The trade name KRONENFLEX® stands as synonym for high-speed cutting-off wheels and grinding discs. With the invention of the high-speed cutting-off wheels and grinding discs used all over the world today at the beginning of the fifties Mr Carl Klingspor set new standards in metal working. It took several years until angle grinders with the required cutting speed were developed that were ready to go into production.
The name KRONENFLEX® is made up of two terms:
The CROWN (German: KRONE) stands for the landmark of the town Siegen where the company was located from their foundation in 1893 until the relocation in 1954.
FLEX stands for the developer of the high-speed angle grinder, the company Ackermann und Schmidt, that engaged in the matter of high-speed machines at the suggestion of Mr Carl Klingspor.
