Dec 19, 2023
The long-standing Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Klingspor AG, Berthold Specht, is stepping down after 23 years with the company. Dr. Steffen Neu, who was elected to the Supervisory Board by the Annual General Meeting on December 14, will succeed him. Olaf ter Jung is now solely responsible for the Klingspor AG Management Board. After 13 years as CEO, Dr. Steffen Neu is leaving the top management of the company to continue his service to the international family business as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Dr. Neu began his career at Klingspor in 1995 as an assistant to the management and, after holding various positions in the company, took over as CEO in 2010. Under his leadership, the group of companies was expanded and developed both nationally and internationally and is now one of the world's leading manufacturers of abrasives.
Olaf ter Jung joined the company in 1996 as assistant to the sales management. After holding several positions within the sales and marketing departments, he assumed overall responsibility for sales and marketing as Managing Director of Klingspor Management GmbH in 2010. In mid-2019, he succeeded Dr. Steffen Neu on the Executive Board of Klingspor AG and will now lead the company as sole member of the Executive Board.
For Dr. Neu, ter Jung is the ideal choice: "I am delighted that we have such an excellent successor as CEO in Mr. ter Jung. Mr. ter Jung knows the company very well, has played an active role in shaping its successful development over many years and has thus helped to make Klingspor what it is today. He is ideally prepared for his new role!"
